Metro Housing Coalition Fall Election Recommendations

METRO HOUSING COALITION FALL ELECTION RECOMMENDATIONS

The Metro Housing Coalition (MHC) is the political committee of the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA).  Led by a Board of Directors composed of 18-20 HBA Builder and Associate Members, the MHC works to educate local officials at the municipal and county levels about HBA issues through the election process, individual meetings, forums and events.

The MHC interviews and supports political candidates based on permit activity and issues within our territory covering thirty-four municipalities and eight counties in the metro Denver region. *Those who elect to interview with the MHC and those who support a vibrant and affordable housing market are those who receive an endorsement and/or a contribution from the Metro Housing Coalition.

Eighty questionnaires were sent out to all prospective candidates within the eight jurisdictions listed below. Of the 80, 60 candidates opted to fill out the mandatory questionnaire which qualified the candidate an interview. A majority of MHC Board Directors (82%) combined spent over 40 hours at the HBA during the end of August and most of September interviewing candidates during day-long, back-to-back interview sessions.

In order to assist you and your companies with the industry recommendations for candidates running over eight jurisdictions within the Front Range, we hope you will find this guide valuable.  Most ballots will be mailed the second week of October.

The Metro Housing Coalition is recommending the following candidates based on a vetting process that includes electability of the candidate and their understanding and interest in the home building industry:
