How did you get started in your career? 

After practicing Architecture in San Francisco for four years, I knew that I wanted to develop and build communities, so I attended the Center for Real Estate Development at MIT.  Since that time, I have been fortunate to work for a variety of builders and developers that are the leaders and the best in their particular niche, whether it be resort development, SFD, or urban infill.

Has there been someone along the way that you credit with helping you get to where you are?  And why?

I had a professor in Architecture School who was also a developer and he peaked my interest in understanding the economic and financial side of things.  As far as a mentor in homebuilding, it would have to be John Osborn.  He taught me a lot about building communities, building teams, and working through adversity.

What accomplishment or contribution to the Home Building industry are you most proud?

Helping to create some unique award winning communities that will stand the test of time, and now rolling out some very exciting and unique urban infill communities.  I also enjoy helping the HBA in its efforts to work with a multitude of governmental issues

Tell us 3 things about yourself that people don’t know.

I am a big Husker fan, but now that we have a son at CU (and writing checks to them), I find myself quietly cheering for the Buffs.
