A homebuilder that builds structures occupying lots throughout the U.S. is, for the first time, digging up dirt in the Portland Area.

Richmond American Homes of Oregon Inc., a subsidiary of Denver-based M.D.C. Holdings Inc. (NYSE: MDC), said Monday it has made a foray into a Beaverton development. Kemmer Ridge homes will sit near Beaverton's Washington Square, at 9946 S.W. 173rd Ave..

The Kemmer Ridge homes, which range between 2,050 and 3,160 square feet, will offer between three and seven bedrooms on two stories.

M.D.C. is a $2.3 billion company that's previously built homes in Washington and California. It ranks 12th on the 2017 Builder 100 list, having constructed 5,000-plus homes in 2016. Read the story by  – Digital Managing Editor, Portland Business Journal
