ARVADA, Colorado - Epic Homes, a new homebuilding company in the Denver market, hosted a unique groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday when company Founder and President Christina Presley broke a bottle of beer on excavating machinery to signify the beginning of “the Epic Homes adventure.”

A gathering of architects, engineers, family and friends, and partners who have supported the company’s launch, were present at the 4 p.m. event at Leyden Rock in northwest Arvada, located near West 82nd Avenue and Highway 93.

“This has been my dream since I started in homebuilding in 1997,” Presley said.

“The Epic Homes’ adventure began with a vision that embraces people and relationships as its core value. We all know that buying a home is a very emotional experience and I think the biggest difference people will feel is that there is a higher level of caring and collaboration that comes with working with us. We treat this like it’s our family.

“While our company is new, we’re experienced, expert builders in the Denver market. We’re independent, not publicly traded and we can work one-on-one with our buyers to provide an experience that is unmatched. Our philosophy is to begin with a conversation about what your home will mean to you. It’s less about the measurements of a floor plan and more about the dimensions of how you want to live.”

Presley announced that Epic Homes has purchased 52 lots at Leyden Rock and will be building single-family homes in the upper $400,000 to $600,000 price range. Presley said the company will offer a ranch-style and three 2-story home plans — all designed by KGA Architects with flexibility in the plans to fit each home owner. She also said a grand opening is planned for March, 2016.  Long-range plans call for Epic Homes to build 120-150 homes per year from Castle Rock to Arvada.

In addition to launching Epic Homes, Presley also serves as the first female president of the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver. She leads the trade association which represents more than 500 home builders, land developers, remodelers, architects, mortgage lenders, building material suppliers and subcontractors in the eight-county Denver metro region.

Prior to forming Epic Homes, she served as the Colorado division president for Meritage Homes Corp., the ninth-largest homebuilder in the U.S. Under her leadership, the Colorado division tripled in size within six years.

Her business partner, Bill Wood, has more than 30 years homebuilding experience including serving as vice president of operations for KB Home, local division president for Richmond American Homes, and as the Colorado division vice president of operations for Meritage Homes.

Presley added, “We may be a new company but we bring an immeasurable amount of local homebuilding experience to Epic Homes, as well as a commitment to operate our company with integrity and respect. You will feel our passion for life expressed in every encounter, with every person, every time and in everything that we do. We want everyone who buys our homes to have an epic experience.”
