The Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA) has elected Christina Presley as its 2015 president. This is the first woman president in the 73-year history of the organization. The HBA represents the home construction industry within the eight counties of the metro Denver area.
Presley brings a wealth of knowledge and more than 15 years of experience to the real estate and homebuilding industry. Most recently, she served as Division President for Meritage Homes, the ninth-largest homebuilder in the United States. Under her leadership, Presley tripled the size of the Colorado Division of Meritage Homes within six years.
“I am honored to be the 2015 president of the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver, and the first woman president in our prestigious history. I don’t take this role lightly, and I am committed to doing all I can to promote both the HBA and the home building industry at large, as well as represent the amazing women who are doing incredible things in our industry every day”, she said.
Presley also announced plans to bring the Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council to the Denver HBA and promote the professional development of women in the home building industry. The Denver chapter will be inducted at the National Professional Women in Building Conference on January 19, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She added that her vision is to drive the value proposition of the HBA to its members, as well as to elevate the public perception of the industry. For members, this includes education and event programming that increase knowledge and opportunities; and from a public perspective, she plans to be an advocate at the local and state level to make a positive impact on the industry.
More than 150 HBA members attended the Installation and Recognition Reception in December 2014, where Presley was installed along with the new 2015 Board of Directors for the HBA. Senior Board members include: President Chris Presley, C & C Ventures, Inc.; President-ElectCraig Campbell, Cairn Real Estate Investments; Vice President-Treasurer Karl Knapp, CVL Consultants; Vice President-Secretary Cheryl Schuette, Larsen Development Company; Kurt Winfield, Milgard; and Angela Harris, Trio Environments.
The HBA is a trade association representing businesses involved in the residential development, construction and remodeling industry in the eight-county Denver metro region. Members include home builders, land developers, remodelers, architects, mortgage lenders, building material suppliers and subcontractors.
Founded in 1942, the HBA is one of 700 local home builder associations in the United States. The HBA is also affiliated with the Colorado Association of Home Builders (CAHB) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), which represents more than 150,000 member firms in the United States.
