How did you get started in your career?
I was presented the opportunity to work for Stella Color+ Design. After working for the same corporate retailer for nearly 12 years; getting my foot in the door in the homebuilding industry. During my first year at Stella Color+ Design, I juggled both jobs until I was offered a full time position and soon after left my retail job to begin my career in the homebuilding industry.
Has there been someone along the way that you credit with helping you get to where you are? And why?
Rick Overby has not only been my boss and mentor in my short career with him but has shown me an unconditional friendship. Through his experiences he has helped me evolve and grow professionally.
What do you love about the Home Building industry?
This field offers a wide variety of growth opportunities in different realms within the homebuilding industry. I love the creative, collaborative effort within each project which allows us to deliver the intended vision to the client.
Tell us 3 things about yourself that people don’t know.
- I “play” softball weekly on a co-ed team with family and friends.
- I am a single mother of two children, ages 12 and 5.
- I have a degree in Interior Design degree despite the fact that I work specifically on exteriors…. the irony!
