How did you get started in your career? 

My career in business started when I invented and patented a product line out of my home. It was very grassroots. I sold my products on Home Shopping Network, QVC, Costco, Sam’s Club, Bed Bath and Beyond just to name a few. Because I personally funded my company including the manufacturing, shipping and fulfillment I learned very quickly about business development and the significance of meeting deadlines, following up and following through.

During the economic collapse several of my large customers went bankrupt and I eventually had to close my company. My business contacts and experience led me to an employment opportunity, within the building industry, to create and run a business development department. I declined the offer at first, but then 8 months later they came back with another offer and timing was better. I accepted that offer and have been involved in the building industry ever since and could not be happier!

Has there been someone along the way that you credit with helping you get to where you are? And why? 

More so than specific individuals, I would say that in some way all my business, family and friends have influenced me and assisted me in one way or another.  This can be a very competitive environment and I am very fortunate to be surrounded with intelligent, encouraging, experienced people who I trust and believe they will always have my best interest at heart. I seek their advice and benefit from their honest opinions and experience and I am continually looking for new ways to grow and improve!

What do you love about the Home Building industry? 

I absolutely love the people within the building industry. I’ve made special friendships and have learned so much.  The building community is very much like having an extended family.  I’m so grateful to be a part of it. I can only hope that I have brought value and meaning to all those who have crossed my path.

Tell us 3 things about yourself that people don’t know.

1. I’m highly allergic to cats.

2. I have a big Greek family and two kids who I still like, even though they are teenagers….lol.

3. I enjoy a wide variety of music from Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli to Eminem and Pink.
