I worked for a Relocation Company right out of High School and obtained my Real Estate License to move into a management position to help relocate employees across the country. After working in the Relocation Business, I was lucky to obtain a sale assistant position at Richmond American Homes. I knew at that moment that selling homes was my passion. I worked my way into a Sales Associate position and sold homes for 10 years for 2 National Builders. I achieved sales person of the year many times over my career. As much as I loved selling new homes, I married and had a baby with my husband and now partner Jason Weaver. Once we had our first child together we knew it was time to start our own career selling residential Real Estate. However, we both missed new homes sales so we made it our goal to help the new home builders with their home buyers home sale needs. It has been a perfect match between our residential real estate career and new home building.

Has there been someone along the way that you credit with helping you get to where you are?  And why?

I give credit to a few people really. First, I would say Jason Weaver, my husband and now business partner,  helped me understand what I could achieve and his support in my decision to join him in Real Estate. It was a GIANT leap of faith for him to trust that we could build this business together. Together we have succeeded in becoming one of the top 10 teams at the Denver Board of Realtors.

Second, I would give credit to Jim Van Gelder. He was the first manager to give me a chance at selling new homes. I was young and didn't have a lot of experience at the time. It was September 2001 and there were no airplanes in the sky due to the tragic events of 911. It was my first commission job and I was scared to death. Jim gambled on me and it turned out to be a good gamble in the long run as I was sales person of the year that year. He helped me understand that even with our world in fear that we could still succeed.  I owe this to Jim.

Lastly, I would give all my courage, my work ethics, all my negotiation skills, all my passion, a lot of my success and especially my heart & soul to Kathy Ellis. She taught me how to survive and push through all the hard times in this business. Not to mention she always made this job fun and taught me not to take everything so serious! Kathy really is the person who has inspired me to be a great business woman. Thank you Kathy!

What do you love about the Home Building industry?

What do you love about the Home Building industry? I love helping people figure out a way to achieve ownership of a brand new home.  Most people have a dream of building their own home just the way they want it. Or dream of living in a home that they can put their own touches on before anyone else has. It is so hard for the normal person to understand how to make all the pieces come together when building a home. My expertise is helping the client put their plan together to make it all happen. Most buyers have the deer in the headlight look when we first meet with them and by the time we get to closing they usually tell me how easy it really was to make their dreams come true. That is what is so rewarding selling a new home.

I also love getting to work with the people in the new home industry. Frankly, I miss it! I like talking to the sales people about their sales adventures, hearing from the builders about the construction process and the changes for today's building standards, seeing the new trends the design centers offer now and how the neighborhoods have such new and trend setting amenities. It's fun keeping up on the new home world and all it has to offer.

Tell us 3 things people don’t know about you
  1. I am adopted. My parents adopted me at 5 weeks old. I thought all babies came from the stork growing up! I know how lucky I am to have had a good upbringing unlike what the alternative could have been. I have a huge appreciation for my parents for taking me in their home.
  2. I am a Colorado Native. I love this state and all it has to offer!
  3. My parents bought a house from Village Homes when I was in High School. I remember sitting in the sales office and saying to myself......"I want to sell new homes one day" I think Real Estate/New Homes has always been in my blood.

Anything else you would like to share?

I'd like to say thank you for including me as a Realtor Partner in your "Spotlight On!"  It really means a lot to me that I am looked at as a New Home Builder Partner. Like I said I love the New Home Building industry and really miss it in many ways. I feel honored to be a part of PWB. I look forward to supporting all the builders out there by bringing more business through their doors.
