How did you get started in your career?
I came to mortgage banking from the airline business, where I worked in inflight for TWA. I was furloughed, a couple of times, then retired in 2002. I started working with Veterans and military loans. I moved to Countrywide/Bank of America in 2006. In 2011 I came to Wells Fargo. I am currently a retail HMC in the Southglenn branch.
Has there been someone along the way that you credit with helping you to get where you are? And why?
When I started in 2002 the broker/owner of the VA lender, was Paul Kelly. Irish through and through. He taught me how to listen to people, He always asked for a please and thank you. Those ideas stick with me today. Mortgage is the major purchase in a family’s life, As our community grows by 100k/yr, the opportunity to help families qualify for a new home pleases me. A mortgage is more than loan, it’s a place for hope, and dreams. I have a card on my desk that reminds me that every day.
