How did you get started in your career? 

I left an Executive Management job in the Auto Industry (90% travel) and took a chance with Lennar Homes. I fell, hook, line and sinker for the industry and given that Lennar was using the 2-10 HBW Warranty… It was a natural move after a 4 year stint there, into my next job with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty®. Now, I am passionate about this Industry and hope to always be a part of it. 

Has there been someone along the way that you credit with helping you to get where you are? And why?  

Within 2-10 HBW, that is unquestionably Alison Short (Senior V.P. of New Home Operations, 2-10 HBW) And why? Advocating on my behalf to move forward within 2-10 HBW, instructing me on the direction (i.e., Getting my Property & Casualty License, Etc…). She has raised, where I thought the bar was, both personally and professionally and continues to show me the path of Integrity and Ethics.

What do you love about the Home Building industry? 

1.) It is that I can bring a product into the stream of commerce that truly helps builders and the industry, while keeping my integrity and my moral convictions intact. Further, doing it for a company that consistently does the “Next Right Thing” (Most Claims Paid).

2.) As a member of NAHB, Denver HBA, I am a Council member of: Associate Members Council, 55+ Housing Council and the Remodelers Council. Volunteer / Contributor for the Home Builders Foundation, Home Aid Colorado, and Boys Hope Girls Hope. All of which I have in some way, impacted and helped the community and industry as a whole…“This is a Nobel venture!”  A traditional list of immediate "basic needs" are… food, water and shelter! We provide one of those needs. Sure, it’s not the “Pyramids”, but it is a structure that will impact the landscape of the earth for many years to come and many families to come.

A big reason I am doing as well as I am, can be attributed to the Metro Denver HBA and the relationships with the associate members that have opened so many (Builders) doors.
