Meet Cathy Bok - AMC Member in Spotlight
How did you get started in your career?
My name is Cathy Bok and I am currently a Senior Mortgage Banker for Academy Bank in the DTC area. I have been in the mortgage business for over 30 years. I began my Mortgage Banking career with Colorado National Bank in 1984. This bank is now currently US Bank and the original location I was at is now a luxury hotel and Spa in the heart of downtown. I then joined Norwest Mortgage which became Wells Fargo and was with them for almost 20 years. The industry was much different in those days and we didn’t have as many of the
rules and regualations we do today. Sometimes I miss the “good ol’ days”!
In 2010 I left Wells Fargo and and was with a few smaller companies until I came on board here at Academy Bank. In my career, my team of 4 and I have made the dream of home ownership a realty for over 42,000 families!
Has there been someone along the way that you credit with helping you get to where you are? And why?
I credit my family, my late husband and my two wonderful daughters, with helping me get my career started and to the level it is today. Without the sacrifices, late nights and working weekends we went thru, I would not be at the level I am today.
What do you love about the Home Building industry?
I love being in the home lending industry simply because I get to help families live out the American dream of homeownership. I help people own their future with a real estate investment and a place to call HOME! I also love that I get to meet so many vast cultures from all across this great country, and for that matter the world! Helping people achieve a goal or dream is the best part of this job! Getting to experience the excitement with them at closing, knowing that they have achieved their goal is very rewarding to me!
Tell us 3 things about yourself that people don’t know.
- I am proud to say that I am a Colorado Native! Born and raised and lived here all of my life.
- I am a die hard Broncos fan and literally bleed Orange and Blue. I have had season tickets since BEFORE John Elway!
- Lastly, the one thing I don’t think many people know is that I recently was able to take the trip of a lifetime and travel to the actual village my family emmigrated from in Italy! That was the most memorable and rewarding trip I have ever done and can’t wait to go back!!
